Can RO Membrane be repaired?

Yes. Membrane can be repaired in some cases.

A lot of customers are ending up spending a lot of money in replacing the RO Membrane.

Membrane is an essential part of any RO Water Purifier. Most of the time RO membrane stops working as it is clogged. There are various reasons of getting it clogged.

Once the membrane is clogged it throws all the water out from the waste output line and the clean water output line stops throwing out the water.

The clogged Membrane can be opened and used again.

Sometimes the service engineers take away the old membrane with them. They can get it opened and install it on another customer’s RO.

There are some ways using those we can stop membrane getting clogged. One simple and best way is to remove the Flow Restrictor that is installed on the Water output line. Keep the RO Switched On for 2 hours.  All the water will be thrown out of the waste water line now. This way any clogging in the membrane will be opened resulting in increasing the membrane life.
